It's been almost a year now and unfortunately the rumor is still going around that if this user deviantwatches you, that you will get a VIRUS. We can assure you that it is absolutely impossible for you to get a virus simply by a person adding you to their deviantWatch. This rumor was created by a troll who thought it would be funny to scare people during a time when deviantART was experiencing heavy phishing scam issues.

Thankfully we were able to introduce measures which prevented these phishing scams from being prevalent, but this malicious rumor ran like wildfire across the site. Unfortunately this rumor succeeded in what the troll intended it to.. to scare people. Even after banning the troll in hopes of killing the rumor it still continued to spread. Every once in awhile notes concerning this situation reach to administrators or even to the Help Desk. We would like to put an end to this rumor once and for all, so we have taken over the account and placing this message here to put everyone who sees this at ease.

If you should receive a note like the following below please make sure to tell who you got it from that this is simply a rumor and nothing more so we can put an end to this

"If someone by the name of Alfred Hundana (dragon_heart620) wants to add you to their buddy list, don't accept it. It's a virus. Please tell everyone on your lists, because if someone on your list adds them, you may get the virus too. This virus is a hard-drive killer. We need to find out who is using this account.
